These vintage recipes are great for a 4th of July celebration or just a plain old gathering of family or friends. Watch out! You may have to have extra in the frig as this punch will go fast and many folks will eat the pudding before the main course!

6 ripe large bananas
2 large boxes of instant vanilla pudding mix
2 large boxes of instant banana pudding mix
1 box of vanilla wafers
Very cold milk
2 regular or 1 large container of nondairy topping, refrigerated but not frozen

1 – 2 liter bottle of Ginger Ale
1 – large bottle of Red Hawaiian Punch
1 to 2 cartons of either Orange or Lime Sherbet

Place a layer of cookies in the bottom of the bowl. Prepare all pudding together in a mixer as per instructions on the box. Place a layer of pudding atop the cookies

Slice bananas and layer over pudding. Place a layer of non-dairy topping over bananas

Repeat as many times as layers desired ending with non-dairy topping

Place a few cookies on top

Makes a punch bowl size of dessert

Punch: Chill bottles of beverage until very cold. Remove sherbet in one block and place sherbet in punch bowl. Pour equal amounts of punch and ale to desired height in a bowl. Serve.
May add ice to keep cold or place punch bowl in a tub of ice.
